33% of Providers Think Accountable Care Hurts the Revenue Cycle

Pay-for-performance reimbursement is not all it’s cracked up to be for 33% of healthcare representatives who think that accountable care will reduce profits and wreak havoc on the revenue cycle, according to a new KPMG poll.  While EHRs and other technologies may ultimately have a positive impact on patient care, respondents believe that operations may suffer from the shift to new payment models, especially in larger organizations, wherein 49% of managers expect lower profits.
