David Winn, MD, FAAFP
CEO, Founder
Dr. David Winn was on the board of directors of Computer Language Research for 15 years prior to its sale to Thomson Corporation. He programmed the prototype "tops" software and used it in his medical practice, which contributed to phenomenal efficiency and profitability. He also has been active in the community with 15 years of service to the Hill Country Medical Ministries as volunteer physician and medical director and is the recipient of numerous awards including the Service to Mankind Award by Sertoma for the southwestern United States. He graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 1981, and completed his residency in Family Medicine at the Southwest Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas. Dr. Winn is board certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Winn is very active nationally in EHR promotion and technical specifications development. He is a founding member of EHRVA (Electronic Health Records Vendors Association), and was appointed to CCHIT for 2005 (Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology), an organization tasked by HHS to establish EHR standards. Dr. Winn has also been very active in promoting semantic interoperability between vendors, first with his involvement with CCR and second with e-MDs release to the open source community of e-MDs Medicapaedia, an interface terminology designed for electronic health records and mapped to SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-9, and other codified medical vocabularies.
Michael Stearns, MD, CPC
President
Dr. Stearns is a board certified neurologist with 15 years of experience in clinical and academic medicine. For the past 10 years he has worked on several health information technology projects at the National Library of Medicine, National Cancer Institute, and with the United Kingdom's National Health Service. He served as the International Director of SNOMED, and played a central role in the development of SNOMED CT, a medical terminology that is evolving into a standard for electronic communication between healthcare enterprises. Dr. Stearns has presented at several national meetings on a variety of health information technology topics including the role of standards in health care, electronic health records, and health care regulatory compliance. He is a voting member of the federally sponsored Health Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP), and a member of this body's technical committee addressing population health issues. Dr. Stearns has over 6 years of experience designing and implementing electronic health records for ambulatory practices and he is also a Certified Professional Coder.
Robert Taylor, DO
Executive VP, Clinical Application & Design
Dr. Taylor manages the design and development of e-MDs’ next generation of products. He has over 8 years of experience building both outpatient and acute care electronic medical record software. He is a graduate of the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a National Library of Medicine Fellowship in Medical Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh.
Patrick Hall
COO, Vice President, Practice Management
Patrick Hall has worked in the healthcare software industry since 1996. He has significant exposure to ambulatory practice management and clinical software. He currently oversees the development of all practice management and related applications at e-MDs. Patrick directed recent major industry changes to ANSI X.12 HIPAA EDI formats and the NPI transition. He also participates in sales and marketing, business development, and customer support efforts for the company. Prior to working at e-MDs, Patrick served as the Sales and Marketing Director for EasyWare, a practice management software development firm. He joined e-MDs in 1997 when the company purchased EasyWare. Patrick is a graduate of The Cape Technikon in Cape Town, South Africa where he was a recipient of the Marketer of the Year award.

Vice President, Clinical Informatics
Chuck Frederick serves as Vice President of Pharmaceutical Informatics. In this capacity he is responsible for the design and development of all pharmaceutical content for the company including
Mark Delp
Senior VP, Chief Information Officer
Mark Delp is responsible for managing e-MDs’ software development initiatives and information technology infrastructure. Mark has over 20 years of experience in software development and technology operations, both as a CIO and, most recently, as president of FM Labs, an IT consulting company. Mark attended Drexel University majoring in information systems management.
Ted Pakes, CPA
CFO
Ted Pakes joined e-MDs from Dell Financial Services, where he was the Director of Business Development for the Public Sector. Ted was instrumental in the growth of Dell Financial Services, which grew from a start-up to $3.5 billion in revenue within a four year period. Ted spent the first six years of his career in public accounting with Price Waterhouse where he reached the level of Audit Manager. Ted obtained a B.B.A in Accounting from Texas A&M University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.
Andrea Lesh
Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Public Relations
Andrea's responsibilities include overseeing direct sales and the value-added reseller channel. Andrea brings over 10 years of healthcare and sales experience to e-MDs, most recently from A4 Health Systems. Andrea works closely with business development, product development and support operations to ensure the satisfaction of our existing customer base, while continuing to grow our market share among new EMR adoptees. Andrea also guides the marketing processes and initiatives associated with corporate branding, partnerships, vendor relations and product launches, while developing strategic corporate roadmaps based on business needs and industry requirements and trends. Andrea holds a B.A. in Psychology and Business Administration from the University of Arizona.
Chris Homer
Vice President, Client Services
Chris is responsible for Client Services, which includes all services delivered during the implementation and support of all e-MDs products. This includes project management, training, and claims implementation as well as all support services, including new user acceleration, software, claims and IT support, product installations and data conversions. Chris brings more than 10 years experience in healthcare clinical management and 14 years experience in software implementation, training, data conversions, and project management to e-MDs. Chris attended Lamar University majoring in computer science and business management.
N. West Short
General Counsel
N. West Short advises e-MDs on legal matters. West received his Juris Doctor degree with Honors from the University of Texas School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from Southern Methodist University. He is licensed to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of Texas, and all courts of the State of Texas. He is also the former Chief Litigation Counsel for Power Computing Corporation.
