Dr. Jeffrey Hyman

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Jeffrey Hyman completed his internship and residency at the Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn New York, in 1984, under the guidance and mentorship of Dr. David Grob, a pioneer in myasthenia gravis research.

Directly after that in September 1984, Dr. Hyman started one of the “first walk in no appointment needed” primary care offices in Brooklyn NY, The Treat and Release Center of Bay Ridge Brooklyn.  It was there where the focus of primary care and preventive health become the center of his medical expertise.

Dr. Hyman joined forces with the University Physicians Group in 1996, which expanded to over 90 physicians in both primary care and subspecialty medical care. By 2000, he became the Medical Director of that group, and focused its attention to primary care and prevention. This group became a division of the Northwell Health System in 2016 where he remains working as the Medical Director of the UPG division.

Dr. Hyman realized in 2004, that the Electronic Medical Record will replace the status quo of how medicine is practiced across the country, and started working with Aprima Medical Software, makers of the Aprima EHR which was acquired by eMDs in early 2019. Dr. Hyman became the Chief Medical Officer of Aprima in 2006 and retains that role post acquisition. Working with the team of engineers and physician users, Dr. Hyman’s helped guide the process of making Aprima a highly rated, and now #1 Best in KLAS EHR in the Small Practice segment.  He continues to help guide the process of making the EHR process of charting clinical encounters both efficient and helpful to both the doctors and patients.
