Places in top five for 13 performance categories in national survey of more than 18,000 physicians across 25 specialties

AUSTIN, TX – July 24, 2014 – eMDs, a leading provider of electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management (PM) solutions, is ranked fifth overall in the Medscape EHR Report 2014 and in the top five in 13 other categories, the company announced today. The report, released earlier this month, is based on a survey from April 9th through June 3rd this year of 18,575 physicians across 25 specialties in the U.S. In the survey, physicians answered questions about their use of an EHR and its performance traits, as well as their satisfaction with their EHR vendor.

“We are proud to continue to be held in such high regard by the physician community across the U.S. for our integrated EHR solutions,” said David L. Winn, MD, FAAFP, Chairman of the Board and CEO at eMDs. “These solutions were designed with the input of thousands of physicians, and we continue to draw on that practitioner expertise to make it easier for physicians, hospitals, health networks and their staffs to improve patient encounters and practice operations.”

In addition to ranking fifth overall with physicians, eMDs’ EHR achieved top five rankings in several other sections of the survey:

  • EHR by Practice Situation – eMDs ranked fourth in the survey for part of hospital or health system network using the network’s EHR.
  • Ease of Use – eMDs ranked fifth overall. It also ranked fifth in the easy to learn and ease of EHR implementation categories, and was tied for fourth for ease of data entry.
  • Satisfaction – eMDs ranked fifth overall both in physician and staff satisfaction, as well as value for the money. It also tied for fourth in appearance and overall usefulness of record.
  • Vendor Support – eMDs ranked fourth in training. Connectivity – eMDs was tied for third for connectivity with reference and hospital labs.
  • Usefulness as a Clinical Tool – eMDs was tied for third both for appropriateness of clinical content and the ability to support workflow.

This is just the latest honor for eMDs and its clients. The company is continuously rated as the highest or one of the highest ambulatory electronic health record and practice management vendors in multiple physician surveys represented by KLAS®, AmericanEHR Partners®, MedScape®, American Association of Family Practitioners, American College of Physicians, American Academy of Neurology, American Academy of Pediatrics and other medical specialties.
