TIPS & TRICKS: PRACTICE MANAGEMENT

The Very Important RED X.
When and wherever you see a red X…. next to a phone number or address, you need to use that red X to break the link between the number/address you are changing and e-MD’s.  If you simply remove or type over the previous number or address, it will stay in the system and pop up in another patients information.

NEVER DELETE anything or anyone in e-MD’s without checking with a representative first!  There is usually a work around so it won’t have to be deleted.  When an item is “deleted” in e-MD’s, it is a “soft-delete” and stays in the tables which may cause future issues.

Scheduling:
Red Box around an appointment – indicates it is an overbooked appointment.

A Black Box around an appointment – indicates that a location was not chosen when the appt was scheduled.
Entire appt line turns black when scheduling a particular patient – indicates the "Kind" of patient is set to “None”.

“Invalid Start and end times” (ex 8:15a - 8:00a) error -   This happens when an appointment gets dragged.  You will need to run the “atime” executable.  This can be found in Schedule under Tools.

Run a Report showing Future Appts:  Schedule>>Reports>>Crystal Reports>>Appt Status Summary and set the parameters to pull Future Appts.

Replacing greyed out slots on a schedule:  Highlight that slot>>start to schedule a patient>>then exit out...not scheduling anyone.  The slot will re-appear.
