Our product is purely object oriented and utilizes the latest technologies from Borland and Microsoft's .NET framework. Our charting component utilizes XML throughout to drive efficient and flexible charting at the point of care. All note components utilize hyperlinks to expedite the charting process and provide quick access to all components of the patient chart. As opposed to other systems, our system guides the user through the patient encounter via one screen. All pertinent patient information and note components are available within one view.
Mobile Computing at the Point of Care
Our EMR solution was designed to maximize usage of the tablet pc at the point of care. Navigation of our user interface does not require extensive "double clicks", or in tablet pc talk "double taps". It also does not require right click functions that can impede usage of the tablet pc. An EMR system not designed for this can dramatically reduce efficiency gains that can be achieved with a tablet. Rapid Development

Rules Engine
Our system is packaged with a Rules engine that allows for implementation of preventative care protocols based on industry guidelines. In addition, you can create your own rules based on a myriad of patient specific criteria. The system automatically executes these rules against your patient population and presents the results throughout the application. Not only does this create an environment for care improvement, but also can drive additional revenue by completing additional tests and procedures while the patient is within the office.
Clinical Protocol Technology
e-MDs solutions come packaged with a comprehensive clinical protocol technology, allowing the clinician to link numerous components of the note based on the chief complaint. Based on keywords in the chief complaint the system automatically determines the ICD-9 code, as well as differentials. This is due to the keyword linkages contained in the company's proprietary ICD-9 coder.
Based on the determined ICD-9, the system automatically links to specific HPI, ROS, Exam, and Plan Templates. It guides the clinician through the process without having to search out the templates they wish to use. In addition, it can link Current Procedural Terminology (CPTs®)/Procedures, Labs/Tests, Medications, Patient Education, Drug Education, Curbside Consults, and Medical Art.
The system contains hundreds of these linkages across numerous specialties, but the clinician can also build their own linkages as desired. No programming knowledge is required to take advantage of this innovative technology. Users simply pick the diagnosis code and add the linkages as they wish. This dramatically cuts down the hunting and pecking found with other systems, and serves as an intelligent protocol that doctors can put in place so that their clinical support staff capture the information they need to make an accurate assessment and institute the ideal course of treatment. Our system is designed to ensure the physician's time is not used as a data collector. It simply presents the information the physician needs to practice the art and science of medicine.
For chronic conditions or follow up visits, the system expedites this further with prompts for all related past visits associated with the patient's chief complaint within each portion of the note. The system pulls in the previous findings, and users can then hyperlink from the text and quickly modify as needed.
The system also provides pre-click templates, to yet again expedite the process by defaulting in normal or common findings and hyperlinking from the text created to quickly modify the results.
At any time, this methodology can handle additional exceptions, whereby the clinician can insert free text within any portion of the findings by typing, through voice recognition, or with handwriting recognition via the Tablet PC.

The system does not require an IT expert or a programmer to create the documentation templates you wish. There is no need to pay us to create or modify templates. Our system empowers you to determine the data you wish to collect and the manner in which you wish to collect it.
